You have now successfully created the connection. Opening your web browser will display the dial up connection box which will automatically attempt to connect.

I get a username/password error when I try to dial up!
Please verify your username and be sure you entered your full account name/email address. For example: johndoe@purledart.com. Just "johndoe" for the user name will result in a dial-up error.

Do you provide SPAM filtering for email?
Yes, all our incoming and outgoing e-mail is filtered for Spam.

How can I block the spam messages?
All e-mails go through a series of tests to determine if they might be spam. When our filter determines an e-mail to be spam, it adds [Spam] to the beginning of the subject line. Based on this you can now set up your own rules in your email program on what to do with the message.
Set up rule in Outlook Express
  • First, we recommend you create a new folder in your "Local Folders" directory. You can name it for example "Spam". You can do this by righ-clicking on "Local Folders" and choosing "New Folder".
  • Go to "Tools", "Message Rules" and click "Mail". This will open a new window "New Mail Rule".
  • Select the condition for your rule: "Where the subject line contains specific words".
  • In the "Rule Description" box (No. 3) click the link "contains specific words", type [Spam] and click "Add", then click "OK".

  • Next, select the action for your rule in box No. 2. We recommend you do not choose "Delete it" but instead check "Move it to the specified folder". Click on "specified" in the "Rule Description" box and choose the folder you want the message moved to.

  • Enter a name for the mail rule.

  • Click "OK"

  • Click "OK" to save it.

Mozilla Thunderbird has advanced "Junk Mail Controls". For Thunderbird as well as any other e-mail program, please refer to the program's help section on how to set up "Message Filters" or "Rules".
